Binnie Masar, in my eyes you were kind hearted, caring, peaceful and full of love, and I hardly ever saw you angry or upset. You kept yourself and those around you in a blissful mood. I treasure many memories of you, like our times together at family parties - Sodhi Masar’s surprise fancy dress birthday, Sam’s 18th, Gurshaan’s 1st birthday, and the Christmas singing competition that we had. I look at photos from these parties and see your lovely smile; I can tell you were having such a good time! Summer holidays were always the highlight of my year. I used to come and stay with the four of you straight ever my last exam. I really enjoyed spending time with you all as a family. A few random things that remind me of you is firstly, that big black mug you used to always drink your tea out of. I found it odd that you would wait until your tea was cold before you drank it! But now both that cup and this particular habit of yours bring a smile to my face. Secondly, whenever somebody mentions Arsenal I immediately think of you, because I remember you wearing the supporters t-shirt around the house. And finally that navy blue BMW that you brought a few years back always reminds me of you. I know that you were into your cars Masar and you always brought the best ones. But this particular one was special because it’s my favourite car, and I told you it’s the car I want when I graduate – you always took a keen interest in my studies, and encouraged me to work hard which I found so sweet. You gave Massi such a loving, healthy and happy married life, and it was obvious you were both the centre of one another’s lives. Jasmine was your little princess and Gurshaan the light of your world. I believe that you have left us in physical form but exist amongst us spiritually. I miss you so much Masar. I wish I could hug and speak to you again. I will however live my life cherishing your memories, and I feel truly blessed to have shared a decade of your life with you, as your niece. Love you loads
